Our Story

A journey through the history of PAM Cooking Sprays.

1957 marks the first patent for a no-stick cooking spray. PAM Products, Inc. was founded in 1959 by Arthur Meyerhoff, Sr. and Leon Rubin. PAM stands for a Product of Arthur Meyerhoff.

In the early 60s, word of PAM was rising like a freshly baked muffin. A loyal user group emerged and PAM became the household substitute for sautéing with high-fat butter, margarine and oil.

In addition to expanding its consumer market, PAM also began expanding its product line. In 1985 PAM developed Butter and Olive Oil sprays.

After the 90s PAM began to focus on enhancing the taste of food to reposition it as part of the recipe and not just part of the clean-up.

In 1992 PAM made the switch to canola oil, reducing saturated fats. This made PAM not only a convenient choice for cooking but also, an obvious choice for healthier eating.

PAM was snagged by many companies before ConAgra Foods, Inc. took control of the brand in the year 2000.

A new baking spray with real flour hit the market in 2003 and PAM Grilling appeared on the menu in 2004.

PAM continues to create new products to make your life easier, healthier and tastier. PAM Professional for high heat applications debuted September 2007.
